Abstract
Village development is carried out to improve the quality of life of rural communities. This development can't be separated from the leadership factor of the village head who politically has the authority to administer village government as regulated in Village Law Number 6 of 2014. The leadership of the village head as the implementing apparatus as well as the formal leader in the administration of village government has a strong influence on the success of development in the village area. Currently, transformational leadership is needed in the development of village innovation because transformational leadership is adaptive and can anticipate better future conditions so that the objectives of developing village innovation can be achieved. Sugihwaras Village is able to innovate in digital services even though it has the lowest income compared to other independent villages. Sugihwaras Village was able to upgrade IDM to become an Independent Village for three years from a Very Disadvantaged Village and won many awards at the national and provincial levels. The purpose of this study was to find out how the transformational leadership of village heads in village development innovations in Sugihwaras Village, Candi District, Sidoarjo Regency. This type of research is qualitative with a descriptive approach with data collection techniques of observation, interviews and documentation. This research uses transformational leadership theory according to Bass and Avolio. The results of this study are the realization of digital service innovations and Griya Sinau Digital in village development through the transformational leadership of the Sugihwaras Village Head, Candi District, Sidoarjo Regency.
