Abstract

Social media is here to make it easier for users to communicate, the rise of Instagram media is currently more used as a personal branding medium than to interact with other people. This study aims to find out how Giring Ganesha's personal branding in social media after his declaration as a Candidate for President of the Republic of Indonesia in 2024. Researchers observed the latest upload of the @giring account after his declaration in August 2020, January 2022 to February 2022 to be exact. The method used in This research is qualitative content analysis. The results of the study concluded that Personal Branding carried out by Giring Ganesha through the @giring instagram account did not work because from the results of the study, by applying the eight laws of personal branding, Giring Gsnesha did not get support from citizens. It can be seen from the number of bad comments received by the @giring account more than the good comments. Keywords: Personal Branding, Presidential Candidate, Content Analysis, Instagram
