Abstract
Many people still think that the problem of sexuality is a problem for adults and married people, so it is taboo to talk about it openly. The presence of the Tonight's Clinic segment which discussed sexuality issues was well received by loyal viewers of the Tonight Show program. Because tonight's clinic segment was considered quite helpful for the audience to get information about sexuality issues that they never had before. However, tonight's clinic segment has also receive a written warning from the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission, where a program cannot display inappropriate sexuality content. This study use a qualitative research method with reception analysis by Stuart Hall which focuses on seeing the meaning and acceptance of the audience for the content of media messages. Stuart Hall in his theory of reception analysis explain that audience acceptance goes through the stages of encoding and decoding which are then divided into three positions, those are dominant reading, negotiated reading and oppositional reading. The results of this study are the meaning and acceptance of early adults in Surabaya on sexuality education on the youtube channel tonightshownet. The difference in the acceptance of informants is due to differences in cultural background, education level, social values, and life values owned by each informant.
