Abstract

National Road 24 from Gempol to Ngoro or vice versa is a road important for motorists, especially heavy vehicles. On that road it is certain to be burdened by high traffic volumes and affected by factors from the environment and weather, resulting in a decrease in quality pavement with the occurrence of some road damage. This research aims to determine the level of road damage conditions and their maintenance and handling, in addition, it is planned to add an additional layer of flexible pavement to the worst damage segment. The method to be used to analyze the condition of road damage is the PCI (Pavement Condition Index) method, then for maintenance and handling used Practical Instructions Routine Maintenance Upr Road. 02.1 Concerning Routine Maintenance of Road Pavement by DPUDJ Bina clans, and for the overlay planning the 1993 AASHTO method was used. Based on the results of the study, it is known that road damage on the National 24 segments Gempol – Ngoro STA 2 + 000 – STA 10 + 890 include: Crocodile skin crack of 173.58 m2 , a hole of 18.28 m2 , longitudinal crack of 2,589 m2 , groove of 50 m2 , wavy by 0.6 m2 , winding crack of 0.04 m2 , and a bow of 1 m2 . Handling is done in the form of P2 or re-paving, P5 or patching, and P6 or smoothing. To the added layer planning obtained dimensions of 2.86 inches thick or about 8 cm.
