Abstract

Of course, in modifying custom motorcycles, we need to think very carefully about the concept and expertise in making the parts used in custom motorbikes. In this case, creative hands are born who are experts in making custom motorbikes and are familiarly known as builders, and this has become a common thing. It's common for custom motorbike activists to use their services, but often the manufacturing process is hampered because the builder cannot visualize the process of conveying ideas from customers properly. In this study the authors use the House of Customland as a stakeholder which is a big umbrella for Custom Culture in East Java, especially in the city of Surabaya, their names are quite well known among custom motorcycle activists, not only do they often hold exhibitions, they also have works that are the result of in collaboration with several custom motorcycle repair shops in East Java which will then be resold and displayed in their mini museum. House Of Customland also offers their services as an intermediary in the idea of the motorbike they will build. In this study using qualitative research methods with primary data obtained from interviews, focus group discussions, documentation, and observation. While secondary data sources are obtained through books, websites, and journals. And adjusted to the design target, namely custom motorbike activists, late adolescents aged 18-25 years and adults aged 26-35 years. In the results of the Focus Group Discussion it was found that the custom motorbike development process was very long, and there were often difficulties in translating the ideas they wanted. And the results of the interviews found that the media used in the exhibition were still very few, and they also still had difficulty capturing the ideas of their customers. Therefore, it is necessary to design the House Of Customland Catalog Book. This design focuses on motor products owned by the House Of Customland, which the design then develops. The design concept in this design refers to the keyword "Rediscovering The Past On Modern Perspective" based on the target audience and analysis data. It is hoped that this catalog book will become a new solution for overcoming the communication process between custom motorcycle enthusiasts and builders.
