Abstract
The cayenne pepper nursery business in Wedani Seed Village, Jombang Regency has become a source of income for most local households. The increase in production input costs that is not offset by adjustments in seed selling prices has the potential to reduce profit margins and encourage nursery farmers to seek alternative sources of income, thus causing differences in the structure and level of household income of nursery farmers. This study aims to analyze the income level, contribution and distribution of farmers' income from cayenne pepper nurseries as well as the distribution of household income of cayenne pepper nurseries in Wedani Hamlet, Badang Village, Ngoro District, Jombang Regency. The research sample was determined by a census method of 43 nursery farmer households. Data analysis involved calculating the income of nursery businesses and nursery farmer households, analyzing income contributions, and analyzing income distribution using the Gini coefficient, the Lorenz curve, and World Bank criteria. The results showed that the average income of cayenne pepper nurseries was Rp 2,364,548 per month with a contribution to the household income of cayenne pepper nurseries of 42% (moderate category), indicating that cayenne pepper nurseries are the main but not dominant source of income. The distribution of income from cayenne pepper nurseries and the total income of nursery farmers' households is relatively evenly distributed, with Gini indices of 0.317 and 0.295, respectively. Thus, cayenne pepper nurseries serve as the primary source of income in the household income structure. Income distribution among farming households is evenly distributed, and the presence of non-nursery and non-agricultural income further enhances the equality of income distribution.
