Abstract

Kediri Regency is one of the regions with considerable potential for corn cultivation, making it an important source of income for farming households. Farmers' income is influenced by various economic factors related to production costs and farm characteristics. This study aims to examine the effects of subsidized fertilizer costs, land area, corn selling price, and labor costs on the income of corn farmers in Mejono Village, Plemahan District, Kediri Regency. This research employed a quantitative approach using primary data collected through questionnaires distributed to corn farmers receiving subsidized fertilizer. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS Statistics version 27. The results showed that subsidized fertilizer costs, land area, corn selling prices, and labor costs had a positive and significant effect on corn farmers' income. Simultaneously, the four variables also had a significant effect on corn farmers' income. The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.767 indicates that 76.7% of the variation in corn farmers' income can be explained by subsidized fertilizer costs, land area, corn selling prices, and labor costs, while the remaining 23.3% is explained by other factors outside the research model. These findings indicate that increasing farmers' income can be supported through better management of production factors and optimal utilization of selling price conditions. Therefore, improving access to production inputs and implementing more efficient farming management are expected to increase corn farmers' income.
