Abstract
This study aims to analyze the effects of the Open Unemployment Rate, Economic Growth, and Education Level on Poverty in the Special Region of Yogyakarta and Bangka Belitung Province during the 2010–2024 period. This study uses the Special Region of Yogyakarta and Bangka Belitung provinces as its subjects because the two regions exhibit contrasting characteristics regarding levels of inequality. The study employs a quantitative approach using a time-series multiple linear regression method estimated using Eviews 12. The results of the DIY study show that the open unemployment rate has a significant positive effect on poverty, the education level has a significant positive effect on poverty, and economic growth has no significant effect. The results of the Bangka Belitung study show that economic growth has a significant positive effect on poverty, while the open unemployment rate and the education level have no significant effect. Therefore, poverty alleviation policies need to be tailored to the conditions and characteristics of each region in order to be more effective in reducing poverty rates.
