Abstract
Shallow groundwater utilization around the Wonokerto Landfill faces contamination risks from leachate infiltration. The importance of this study relies on the need for a spatial tool to map hydrogeological risk zones, with primary difficulties lying in local environmental complexity and residential pollution interferences. This study aims to map intrinsic groundwater vulnerability zones using GIS-MCDA, evaluate actual groundwater quality status using the Pollution Index (PI), and analyze their statistical correlation. GIS-MCDA modeling incorporating five physical parameters (water table, flownet, slope, soil type, and landfill distance) produced a Groundwater Vulnerability Zone Map for Oro-Oro Ombo Kulon Village dominated by High (47.97%) and Very High (29.32%) classes along the downgradient corridor. Laboratory testing of the shallow aquifer (n=7) revealed water quality status ranging from Meeting Standards to Lightly Polluted (PI=0.708-2.044), peaking at point T-2 near the landfill (PI=2.044). Spearman's Rank Correlation Test demonstrated no statistically significant linear relationship between the Vulnerability Index (VI) and actual PI (r_{s}=-0.414;p=0.355). This proves that the VI map serves as a baseline physical risk projection, whereas actual groundwater pollution in residential areas is governed by landfill leachate infiltration at very close range and secondary contamination loads from local domestic sanitation (septic tanks). This research provides a strategic baseline for local authorities in groundwater protection and planning.
