Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of workload and the non-physical work environment on the work discipline of 57 active teachers at SD Muhammadiyah 11 Surabaya using a causal associative quantitative approach and Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) analysis. The results indicate that workload has an impact on work discipline, where high task volume, overlapping responsibilities, administrative complexity, and time pressure can affect teachers’ physical and mental conditions in carrying out their duties. Furthermore, the non-physical work environment also has an impact on work discipline, as clear task distribution, transparent communication, and leadership support can create psychological comfort and encourage teachers to comply with school regulations. Therefore, optimizing teacher discipline at SD Muhammadiyah 11 Surabaya can be achieved through proportional workload management and the creation of a harmonious non-physical work environment Keywords: workload, non-physical work environment, work discipline.
