Abstract
Poverty is one of the development issues that remains a concern for the government because it can affect the level of community welfare. The number of tourist visits, average years of schooling, and minimum wages are some of the factors that influence the poverty level. The purpose of this study is to study how the poverty level in Samosir Regency, North Sumatra, is affected by the number of tourist visits, average years of schooling, and minimum wages. Secondary data used in this study are time series data for the period 2015–2024 from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Samosir Regency and other relevant sources. Multiple linear regression analysis was conducted using the EViews 13 program. Hypothesis testing was carried out through t-tests, F-tests, and coefficient of determination tests (Adjusted R-Square). The results showed that the number of tourist visits partially had a negative but not significant effect on the poverty level in Samosir Regency; the average years of schooling also had a negative but not significant effect on the poverty level in Samosir Regency; and the minimum wage simultaneously had a negative and significant effect on the poverty level in Samosir Regency. The Adjusted R-Square value of 0.892598 indicates that 89.26% of the variation in poverty levels can be explained by the number of tourist visits, average years of schooling, and minimum wage, while the remaining 10.74% is explained by other variables outside the research model. Keywords: Number of Tourist Visits, Average Years of Schooling, Minimum Wage, Poverty Rate.
