Abstract

Rice production plays an important role in increasing farmers' income and supporting regional food security. This study aims to analyze the effect of harvested area, fertilizer subsidies, and agricultural tools and machinery (alsintan) on rice production in Ngawi Regency. The data used are secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Ngawi Regency and the Food Security and Agriculture Service of Ngawi Regency in the form of quarterly data for the period 2010–2024. The analysis method used is Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) multiple linear regression with the help of EViews 10 software. The results of the study indicate that partially harvested area and fertilizer subsidies have a positive and significant effect on rice production, while agricultural tools and machinery have a positive but insignificant effect on rice production. Simultaneously, harvested area, fertilizer subsidies, and agricultural tools and machinery have a significant effect on rice production in Ngawi Regency. The results of this study indicate that increasing harvested area and the effectiveness of fertilizer subsidies have the potential to increase rice production so that they can support increasing income and welfare of farmers in Ngawi Regency. Furthermore, it is necessary to optimize the utilization and distribution of agricultural machinery to make a greater contribution to increasing productivity and farmer welfare.
