Abstract

The Open Unemployment Rate (OUR) is one of the key indicators used to measure labor market conditions and the success of regional economic development. This study aims to analyze the effects of inflation, investment, and government expenditure on the Open Unemployment Rate (OUR) in Banten Province during the 2010–2024 period. This study employed secondary data obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance (DJPK), and other relevant institutions. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression with EViews 12 software. The results indicate that inflation has a negative but insignificant effect on the Open Unemployment Rate in Banten Province. Meanwhile, investment and government expenditure have negative and significant effects on the Open Unemployment Rate. Simultaneously, inflation, investment, and government expenditure have a significant effect on the Open Unemployment Rate in Banten Province. The findings suggest that the decline in the Open Unemployment Rate in Banten Province is primarily driven by increased investment and government expenditure, which encourage job creation and improve labor absorption. On the other hand, changes in the inflation rate during the study period did not have a significant impact on the Open Unemployment Rate. Keywords: Inflation, Investment, Government Expenditure, Open Unemployment Rate.
