Abstract
Lecturer research data at UPN "Veteran" Jawa Timur are currently managed across several independent operational systems, namely SIMARIS, SIMAKIN, and SIMPEG. This fragmented environment complicates data integration and limits university management in monitoring research performance comprehensively. This study aims to design and develop a Business Intelligence (BI) application based on a data warehouse to integrate lecturer research data into a centralized monitoring system. The data warehouse was developed using the Kimball Nine-Step Methodology, resulting in a fact constellation schema consisting of three main fact tables: fact_litdos, fact_publikasi, and fact_ajuan_haki within a PostgreSQL database. The data integration process was implemented through the Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) process using Pentaho Data Integration, supported by an incremental loading mechanism to automate data updates efficiently. Data visualization and multidimensional analysis were developed using Metabase and Mondrian OLAP Server and integrated into a web-based application built with Next.js and Laravel. The testing results showed that all ETL processes were executed successfully without errors, with loading times ranging from less than one to seven seconds per table. Furthermore, all Black Box Testing scenarios were successfully completed, while the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) achieved a score of 91.11%, indicating that the application is highly feasible for implementation. The resulting SADAYA application provides executive dashboards and multidimensional analysis to support evidence-based decision-making related to lecturer research, scientific publications, and intellectual property rights (IPR).
