Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of financial literacy and income on investment decisions, as well as to investigate the role of risk perception as a mediating variable among Accounting students at Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jawa Timur. This research employed a quantitative approach. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to students of the Accounting Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jawa Timur. The sampling technique was determined based on specific criteria, while the data were analyzed using path analysis to examine the mediating effect of risk perception. The results indicate that financial literacy has a significant effect on students' investment decisions, whereas income does not have a significant effect. Furthermore, risk perception was found to mediate the relationship between financial literacy and investment decisions. However, risk perception failed to mediate the relationship between income and investment decisions. Therefore, improving financial literacy and enhancing students' understanding of investment risk are essential to encourage more appropriate and informed investment decision-making among university students.
