Abstract

Dividend policy is a company’s decision in distributing profits to shareholders by considering financial conditions and the company’s ability to generate earnings. Therefore, factors such as profitability, leverage, and firm size are important to be analyzed in relation to dividend policy. This study aims to examine the effect of profitability, leverage, and firm size on dividend policy with liquidity as a moderating variable in banking companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2018–2024. This study employs a quantitative approach using secondary data. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, resulting in 11 banks selected based on specific criteria. The data analysis technique applied is Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The variables examined include profitability, leverage, firm size, dividend policy, and liquidity as a moderating variable. The results show that profitability, leverage, and firm size contribute to dividend policy. Furthermore, liquidity is proven to moderate the relationship between these variables and dividend policy, by strengthening the effect of profitability on dividend policy, weakening the effect of leverage on dividend policy, and strengthening the effect of firm size on dividend policy.
