Abstract
PT Kuanta Prima Indonesia faces challenges in monitoring internship activities, as administrative processes such as attendance, assignment submission, and daily activity reporting are still handled separately through spreadsheets, Google Forms, and WhatsApp, resulting in scattered, error-prone data and making it difficult for mentors to thoroughly monitor intern progress. This research aims to design and develop the backend of a web-based internship monitoring system capable of integrating these processes into a single centralized platform. The system was developed using the Scrum method, an iterative and adaptive approach, through the stages of sprint planning, sprint backlog, sprint execution, sprint review, and sprint retrospective, allowing it to accommodate evolving user requirements throughout development, and was completed in 5 sprints with a total of 37 product backlog items and 169 story points. The backend was built using the PHP-based Laravel framework, a MySQL database, and a RESTful API architecture, accommodating four user roles—Admin, Mentor, Intern, and COO—covering features such as check-in and check-out attendance, material and assignment distribution, competency training quizzes, and final internship assessment. Testing using the Black Box Testing method at the end of each sprint showed that all test scenarios were successful as expected, proving that the system effectively supports a structured, integrated, and functionally reliable internship monitoring process. Keywords: internship monitoring system, backend, Scrum, Laravel, RESTful API
