Abstract

This study aims to analyze base sectors, economic structural shifts, leading sectors, and the influence of leading sectors on economic growth in Trenggalek Regency for the period 2015-2024. The methods employed include Location Quotient, Shift Share, Overlay, and multiple linear regression using Gross Regional Domestic Product data at constant prices. The results show that there are nine base sectors, with the Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries sector recording the highest LQ value. The Shift Share analysis indicates that all economic sectors experienced positive growth, reflecting a structural shift in the economy. The Overlay analysis identified six leading sectors, namely Mining and Quarrying, Real Estate, Business Services, Government Administration, Defense and Compulsory Social Security, Education Services, and Health Services and Social Activities. The regression results show that the Financial Services and Insurance sector and the Other Services sector have a positive and significant effect on economic growth, while the Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries sector has no significant effect. Simultaneously, the independent variables have a significant effect on economic growth with an Adjusted R² value of 95.97%, indicating that leading sectors play an important role in driving economic growth in Trenggalek Regency.
