Abstract

This internship was conducted with the objective of managing and analyzing tourism visit data for Pari Island, one of the leading tourist destinations in the Thousand Islands, Jakarta, Indonesia. In the digital era, data management has become a crucial aspect of supporting data-driven decision-making, particularly in the tourism sector, which heavily relies on visitor trends, tourist preferences, and effective marketing strategies. This study adopts a data engineering approach by utilizing modern technologies such as Pentaho for data ingestion, Apache Airflow for pipeline orchestration, Apache Spark for large-scale data processing, Hadoop for distributed data storage, and Tableau for data visualization. The designed data pipeline consists of data collection from multiple sources, data transformation into a structured format, data storage in a PostgreSQL- and Hadoop-based data warehouse, and data visualization through interactive dashboards. This process enables in-depth analysis of tourist visitation patterns, payment methods, the most popular activities, and tourist preferences based on their reviews. The visualization results indicate that the total number of tourist visits reached 13,182, with the Mangrove Tour receiving the highest rating and Cycling receiving the lowest rating. Tourist preferences show that BBQ is the most favored activity, while cash is the most widely used payment method, accounting for 35% of all transactions.
