Abstract
Banyuwangi Regency is a region with superior potential that relies on the tourism, agriculture, plantation and trade sectors which are quite rapidly developing, but still faces challenges in overcoming the problem of open unemployment. Although economic growth in the Banyuwangi region is quite high, the decline in the open unemployment rate has not occurred evenly. This study aims to analyze the effect of Education Level, Minimum Wage, and Economic Growth on the Open Unemployment Rate in Banyuwangi Regency during the period 2005-2024. This study uses the dependent variable, namely the open unemployment rate (Y), and the independent variables, namely the level of education (X1), minimum wage (X2), and economic growth (X3). This study uses a quantitative approach with the data used being secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency of Banyuwangi Regency and East Java Province. The analytical method used is multiple linear regression analysis with the help of IBM SPSS software version 27. The results of the study indicate that the Education Level variable does not have a significant effect on the Open Unemployment Rate in Banyuwangi Regency, while the Minimum Wage and Economic Growth variables have a significant effect on the Open Unemployment Rate in Banyuwangi Regency. These findings indicate that increasing the minimum wage and economic growth play a significant role in encouraging employment, thereby reducing the open unemployment rate in Banyuwangi Regency. Keywords: Open Unemployment Rate, Education Level, Minimum Wage, Economic Growth
