Abstract

Entisol soils in Kwansan Village, Sedati, Sidoarjo are characterized by low organic matter content and limited nutrient availability, resulting in suboptimal soil fertility. The utilization of organic waste such as fish waste and maggot waste has potential as an alternative fertilizer to improve soil chemical and physical properties. Soil parameters observed included organic carbon (C-organic), total nitrogen (N-total), C/N ratio, bulk density, and particle density. Laboratory analyses were conducted using the Walkley–Black method for C-organic and Kjeldahl digestion for N-total. Results: The application of fish and maggot waste fertilizers increased soil C-organic and N-total content compared to the control treatment. The C/N ratio ranged from low to moderate levels, indicating relatively rapid decomposition of organic materials. Solid fertilizer treatments tended to reduce bulk density, suggesting improved soil structure and porosity. Maggot waste showed a greater contribution to increasing soil organic carbon compared to fish waste. Keywords : Entisol, Fish Waste, Maggot Waste, Soil Fertility
