Abstract

This study aimed to determine the interaction of media composition and LOF concentration from vegetable waste on the growth and yield of eggplant variety Lezata F1 grown in polybags. The experiment used a two-factor Randomized Block Design (RBD). The first factor was media composition consisting of M1 (soil:cocopeat:rice husk charcoal 2:1:1), M2 (1:2:1), and M3 (1:1:2). The second was LOF concentration consisting of L1 (200 ml/l), L2 (250 ml/l), L3 (300 ml/l), and L4 (350 ml/l). The results showed that the combination of treatments had a very significant effect on plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, and a significant effect on the appearance of the first flower, number of flowers and fruit weight in the third harvest period. The best treatment was the combination of M1L2 in the early growth phase, while the best treatment in the advanced growth and flowering phase was the combination of M3L4. The composition of M1 (2:1:1) and M3 (1:1:2) media provided the best effect on vegetative and generative parameters. LOF concentrations of 250 ml/l and 350 ml/l provided the best results from the early to late growth phases.
