Abstract

Refined oil imports are one of Indonesia’s efforts to meet its domestic energy demand. This study aims to analyze the effect of crude oil exports, crude oil production, world oil prices, and the rupiah exchange rate on Indonesia’s refined oil imports from Singapore during 2010-2024. This study uses secondary data obtained from Trade Map, the World Bank, Bank Indonesia, and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), employing multiple linear regression analysis. The results show that crude oil exports and the exchange rate have no significant effect on refined oil imports. Meanwhile, crude oil production has a negative and significant effect, while world oil prices have a positive and significant effect on refined oil imports. Simultaneously, all independent variables significantly affect refined oil imports. The findings indicate that Indonesia’s refined oil imports are influenced by external factors, particularly world oil prices, as well as internal factors such as the limited capacity of domestic oil refining industries.
