Abstract

The Middle East Ring Road is driving economic growth in Gunung Anyar Subdistrict, leading to increased greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. This study aims to estimate, map, and analyse strategies for reducing GHG emissions in the waste management, transportation, and residential sectors in Gunung Anyar Subdistrict. The methods used are based on the IPCC 2006 Tier 1 guidelines and on LEAP (Low Emissions Analysis Platform) modelling. Research data were obtained from field surveys, household energy consumption questionnaires, measurements of waste generation and composition, and secondary data from relevant agencies. The research results indicate that the transportation and residential sectors are the primary contributors to CO₂ emissions, while the waste management sector is the dominant source of CH₄ emissions. Emission projections for 2025– 2035 show an upward trend due to population growth, transportation activities, and energy consumption. Mapping results reveal an uneven distribution of emissions. Mitigation scenarios involving public transportation, electric vehicles, 3R waste management, and household energy efficiency can reduce emissions compared to a scenario without policies.
