Abstract
This study aims to analyze the relationship between traffic volume and noise levels and to map their spatial distribution in school areas along between Jalan Veteran and Jalan Penanggungan, Kota Kediri. Data were collected through traffic counts and noise measurements using a sound level meter at three observation points over twi dyas, covering three times periods. The analysis was conducted using simple linear regression with SPSS software, while spatial visualization was performed using a Geographic Information System (GIS) based on ArcGIS Pro. The result indicate a strong positive relationship between traffic volume and noise levels, with correlation coefficient (R) values ranging from 0,641 – 0,948, showing a significant and direct relationship. The coefficient of determination (R2) demonstrates that most of the variation in noise levels can be explained by traffic volume, while the remainaing variation is influenced by other factor outside the model. Spatial mapping using GIS produced thematic maps that clearly illustrate the distribution of traffic volume and noise levels, facilitating the identification of areas with high noise intensity. These findings confirm that increased traffic volume sigificantly contributes to higher noise levels in school zones. Keywords: Noise, Traffic Volume, School Zones, Geographic Information System (GIS).
