Abstract
Construction project planning requires precision in modeling and quantity takeoff so that the planning results can be used as a basis for accurate decision-making. In bridge projects, the complexity of structural elements such as substructures, steel frames, floor slabs, and reinforcing steel has the potential to cause clashes between elements if modeling is not performed in a coordinated manner. These clashes can affect the accuracy of the model and result in non-representative quantity calcula-tions. This study aims to analyze the 3D modeling process based on Building Infor-mation Modeling (BIM), compare the results of work quantities between models with and without the application of clash detection, and determine the effect of clash detection on work quantities in a steel truss bridge project in Nganjuk Regen-cy. The research method used is quantitative descriptive with a case study approach. The research data consists of shop drawings from the project team, which were used as the basis for modeling using Autodesk Revit. Models were created under two conditions: a model without clash detection and a model with clash detection. The clash detection process was performed using Autodesk Navisworks, after which clashes were classified as reasonable clashes and unreasonable clashes. Clashes classified as unreasonable clashes were corrected in the model, while reasonable clashes did not require model changes because they did not affect the quantity of work. The research results show that the volume of concrete and steel frame work did not change after clash detection was performed. However, for steel reinforce-ment work, there was a decrease in quantity from 308,831.78 kg to 227,839.80 kg, or by 26.23%. Based on these results, the application of clash detection affects the ac-curacy of work quantities, particularly for reinforcement elements with high levels of complexity. Models that have undergone the clash detection process yield work quantities that are better coordinated and more representative of the design condi-tions.
