Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of base sectors on economic growth in Mojokerto Regency and Jombang Regency, as well as to compare the role of leading sectors in both regions. The research employs a quantitative descriptive approach using secondary data of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) from 2015 to 2024 obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics. The analytical methods include Location Quotient (LQ) to identify base sectors, and multiple linear regression analysis to measure the impact of base sectors on economic growth. The results indicate differences in base sectors between the two regencies, where Mojokerto is dominated by manufacturing and information-communication sectors, while Jombang relies more on agriculture, trade, and service sectors. Simultaneously, base sectors significantly influence economic growth in both regions, although with varying degrees of contribution. The findings imply that strengthening and diversifying base sectors is crucial for achieving sustainable and resilient regional economic development.
