Abstract

The livestock sector in Jombang Regency has experienced a significant increase in administrative complexity, marked by the growth of verified livestock groups from 52 groups in 2021 to 139 groups in 2024. However, the administrative reporting process, which still relies on digital forms, is considered inadequate to support user needs. Interviews with 12 respondents, consisting of farmers, field officers, and representatives of the Jombang Regency Livestock Office, revealed that 83% of respondents perceived the form as unintuitive and lacking clear feedback. The core problem lies in the interaction design between users and the system. This research aims to design the UI/UX of the Ternovia application for livestock group administration using the Double Diamond method, which consists of four stages: Discover, Define, Develop, and Deliver. The design was iteratively evaluated using Usability Testing and Heuristic Evaluation. The first iteration of Usability Testing showed effectiveness scores ranging from 90.28% to 96.15%, efficiency scores ranging from 84.96% to 95.07%, and System Usability Scale (SUS) scores ranging from 85.83 to 90.00, which were categorized as Acceptable, Grade A, and Excellent. The Heuristic Evaluation identified 25 usability issues that served as the basis for improvements in the second iteration. The second iteration demonstrated improvements, with effectiveness scores exceeding 97% without unfinished tasks, efficiency reaching 98.11%, and SUS scores remaining in the Acceptable, Grade A, and Excellent categories. This research concludes that the Double Diamond method is effective in producing an intuitive, efficient, and user-centered UI/UX design.
