Abstract
PT Ciomas Adisatwa is a company engaged in the production of hygienic chicken carcasses with assured quality. The company faces an issue related to overstocking of frozen products, which leads to an increase in operational costs. This study aims to determine the optimal production level of whole chicken in order to minimize total inventory costs at PT Ciomas Adisatwa. The research applies the Lagrange Multiplier method and focuses on whole chicken products with frozen size categories AU (0.8–0.9), AU (0.9–1.0), and AU (1.0–1.1). The results indicate that the Lagrange Multiplier method is capable of identifying the optimal production quantity in accordance with warehouse capacity while minimizing total costs. The company’s total inventory cost, initially amounting to Rp39.766.710.284, was successfully reduced to Rp27.503.604.077, resulting in a cost saving of Rp12.263.106.207, equivalent to 30.83%.
