Abstract
This study aims to analyze and improve the production system at UD Anugrah, which experiences capacity constraints at the Sewing and Injection workstations. These capacity imbalances cause bottlenecks that negatively affect production targets and company throughput. The method applied in this research is the Theory of Constraints with the Drum-Buffer-Rope approach, implemented through five systematic improvement stages. Constraint identification was conducted by analyzing workstation capacities, while the constraint exploitation stage involved developing an optimization model using linear programming supported by POM-QM software. The subordination of non-constraint workstations was carried out by adjusting production flow to align with bottleneck capacity through time buffer calculations and the application of the Drum-Buffer Rope concept. The constraint elevation stage was implemented by adding work shifts at the Sewing workstation and increasing working hours at the Injection workstation. The results show that these improvements increased monthly production capacity and reduced bottlenecks. Company throughput increased from Rp 88,811,980 to Rp 94,814,500, representing an increase of Rp 6,002,520 or 6.33%. This study demonstrates that the application of the Theory of Constraints based on the Drum-Buffer-Rope approach is effective in improving efficiency and production system performance in small-scale manufacturing industries. Keywords: Bottleneck, Drum-Buffer-Rope, Shoes, Theory of Constraint
