Abstract
The Sugar Factory was established in 1921 by HVA (Handles Veriniging Amsterdam) as a private owner from the Netherlands with a capacity of 24,000 kw of sugar cane per 24 hours. In 1928 the Factory was ready and began milling sugar cane. In 1930-1932 the Factory began milling at full capacity. With a land area of 2,103 Ha. From 1933 to 1937 activities stopped, while in 1938 milling resumed with a land area of 1,271.4 Ha. From 1942 to 1945 activities stopped due to the Japanese occupation, PG Semboro was used as a soda factory. After Indonesia's independence on August 17, 1945 until the end of 1949 PG Semboro was used as an ammunition factory to supply weapons for the fighters. During that time PG Semboro was damaged so that repairs had to be carried out after the war of independence. White crystal sugar or SHS (Superior Hoofd Suiker) type sugar is the main product produced by PG. Semboro goes through the following stages: 1. Preliminary station 2. Milling station 3. Purification station 4. Evaporation station 5. Cooking station 6. Carbonation station 7. Rotation station 8. Boiler station 9. Turbine generator station
