Abstract

Taking care of mental health is an essential aspect often overlooked, especially in developing countries like Indonesia. A survey conducted by Into the Light revealed that 98% of adults in Indonesia, including both men and women, experience feelings of loneliness. Although loneliness has not been scientifically classified as a mental disorder, if left untreated, this condition can develop into a serious mental health issue. This situation is exacerbated by the prevalence of negativity on social media platforms, where malicious comments can adversely impact the mental health of users. In response to this, the idea of developing an application that can help users share their stories and emotions, receiving positive responses to support mental health, emerged. The development process of this application was carried out using Android Studio, resulting in an Android-based mobile application equipped with interesting features. These features include a login and registration system, a page for entering notes, a page for viewing previously entered notes, and a page displaying note details. The application is designed with a modern architecture involving the use of ViewModel, LiveData, Paging, Web API, and DAO to ensure optimal performance and a secure user experience. The goal is to create a supportive environment where users can express their feelings freely without fear of judgment or receiving negative comments. The final outcome of this Field Work Practice provides a solution that maintains user confidentiality and security. The application allows users to express and release pent-up feelings while receiving automatic support from the system. Unique features of this application include reports indicating how often users experience specific emotions, helping them monitor and evaluate their own mental health. This is a crucial step in increasing awareness of the importance of mental health, especially in developing countries like Indonesia, where there is still stigma and a lack of resources for addressing mental health issues. The application not only serves as a platform for emotional expression but also as a tool for identifying and managing emotions, contributing to overall mental health improvement.
