Abstract
Spring onions (Allium fistulosum L.) are a horticultural crop that is a superior agricultural commodity cultivated intensively in Indonesia. This study aims to determine the effect of the proportion of cutting seedlings and the type of manure on the growth and yield of spring onions. This study used a factorial RAL with two factors. The first factor is the proportion of cutting seedlings (B) which consists of 3 levels, namely cutting 1/3 (B1), cutting 1/2 (B2), and cutting 2/3 (B3), while the second factor is the type of manure (K) with a dose of 75 g/polybag which consists of 4 levels, namely without manure (K0), chicken manure (K1), goat manure (K2), and cow manure (K3). The parameters observed were the age of shoot emergence, plant length, leaf length, number of leaves per tiller, number of leaves per clump, number of tillers per clump, fresh weight of plants per clump, and length of the longest root. The results showed no interaction between the two combinations of both treatments on the growth and yield of spring onions. The single treatment of the proportion of cutting of the tillers significantly affected plant length, leaf length, and fresh weight of plants per clump, and cutting 1/2 and 1/3 gave the best results. The treatment of the type of manure affected all observed parameters and gave the best results on plant length, number of leaves per clump, number of tillers per clump, and fresh weight of plants per clump.
