Abstract

The dairy cattle farming sector is an important sub-sector in supporting food security and nutrition for the Indonesian people. Analysis of the Farming Exchange Rate (NTPT) is believed to reveal the purchasing power of farmers in the farming sector, reflecting the balance between income and expenditure on production needs and household consumption. This study aims to determine the dairy farming farmer exchange rate (NTPT) in Kemiri Village, Puspo District, Pasuruan Regency, to ascertain the level of welfare and effectiveness of farming businesses in the region. Sampling was conducted using simple random sampling with 80 respondents. The data analysis method used was quantitative descriptive analysis, which analysed the income and expenditure of dairy farmers and the farm gate price. The results of the study show that the average total milk income earned by farmers is Rp 36,902,513 per year. Meanwhile, the average household expenditure of farmers reaches Rp 21.249.443 per year. Thus, farmers still earn a net income of Rp 15.657.069 per year. The Farming Exchange Rate (NTPT) in Kemiri Village ranges from 86–231% with an average of 137%, indicating that the majority of dairy farmers are prosperous (NTPT > 100). Of the 80 farmers, the factors that influence the high and low Farmer Exchange Rates (NTP) in Kemiri Village include income levels, food expenditure, and non-food expenditure.
