Abstract

Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) is a horticultural commodity that is classified in the Cucurbitaceae family, which also includes watermelon and melon plants. The purpose of this study was to determine the interaction between the timing of pruning and the application of gibberellin plant growth regulator on the growth and yield of Harmony variety cucumber plants. This study is a factorial experiment designed based on a Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of two factors. The timing of shoot pruning consisted of three levels, namely: no pruning, pruning at 14 DAP and pruning at 21 DAP. The application of gibberellin PGR consisted of four levels, namely: 0 ppm, 100 ppm, 200 ppm, and 300 ppm. The results showed that the combination of pruning at 14 days after planting and application of 100 ppm gibberellin had the best effect on plant height. Meanwhile, the combination of pruning at 14 days after planting and application of 300 ppm gibberellin had the best effect on the number of fruits harvested.
