Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of educational attainment, open unemployment rate, and Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) on the poverty level in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) during the period 2013–2024. The issue of poverty in DIY is particularly compelling, as the province records a high Human Development Index and relatively low unemployment rate, yet continues to exhibit the highest poverty rate on Java Island. This research employs time-series data obtained from Statistics Indonesia and utilizes multiple linear regression supported by a series of classical assumption tests. The results indicate that educational attainment has a negative but statistically insignificant effect on poverty. The open unemployment rate shows a positive yet insignificant effect. In contrast, GRDP has a negative and statistically significant influence on poverty, demonstrating that economic growth effectively reduces poverty in DIY. Simultaneously, all independent variables significantly influence poverty, with a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0,895. These findings highlight that economic growth is the most decisive factor in reducing poverty in DIY, whereas improvements in education and reductions in unemployment have not yet shown significant statistical impacts.
