Abstract
This study aims to examine the effect of six components in the fraud hexagon on academic fraud with national defense attitudes as a moderating variable. The population in this study were students of the accounting study program at the University of National Development “Veteran” East Java for the 2021-2024 academic years, numbering 1,449 students. The sample was determined using the random sampling method, resulting in a total sample of 313 students. This study used a quantitative method. Data were collected using the documentation method and analyzed using SmartPLS 4 software. The results of the study showed that opportunity, capability, and collusion had a positive and significant effect on academic fraud, while pressure, rationalization, and ego had no effect on academic fraud. Patriotic attitude as a moderating variable could only moderate the relationship between pressure and academic fraud.
