Abstract
In line with the increasing demand for various supporting materials in industrial processes, it is necessary to establish new factories not only to meet domestic needs but also to focus on export markets. One such facility is an Aluminum Chloride plant. Aluminum metal and chlorine are reacted inside an electric furnace, with the temperature maintained at 660°C. The product leaving the electric furnace is fed into a shell-and-tube gas cooler for initial cooling until its temperature reaches 300°C, after which it is sent to a cooling condenser to sublimate the aluminum chloride vapor until the temperature reaches 150°C. The product from the cooling condenser is then separated into solid aluminum chloride and its carrier gas. The solid aluminum chloride is routed to a screw cooling conveyor before being fed into a ball mill, while the gas is directed to a cooler and subsequently to a scrubber to be neutralized with sodium hydroxide before being discharged to the waste treatment unit. After leaving the ball mill, the product is collected in a hopper and transported to the packaging unit, then stored in the product storage tank.
