Abstract
This special task focuses on performing a comprehensive mass balance calculation on the Kiln System RKC II at PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk., Tuban Plant. The objective of this study is to determine the mass equilibrium of each unit operation within the system, including the preheater, rotary kiln, and cooler. Data used in the analysis were obtained from Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and CCR Unit 2 on October 22, 2024. The mass balance calculations involved kiln feed composition, coal composition, combustion reactions, calcination processes, and efficiency parameters such as cyclone efficiency, EP separation efficiency, and dust losses. The results indicate that the total mass input and output for all equipment components are balanced, with the preheater totaling 930,140.96 kg/hour, the rotary kiln totaling 553,604.33 kg/hour, and the cooler totaling 1,042,564.19 kg/hour. These findings confirm that the kiln system operates under stable and controlled conditions, with no indication of imbalance, leakage, or performance issues in the RKC II production unit.
