Abstract
Red beet (Beta vulgaris L.) is a horticultural crop whose production is still limited in Indonesia, so it is necessary to increase productivity by cultivating it at the right planting distance and harvest age. The study was conducted to examine how the interaction occurs between planting distance and harvest age on the growth and yield of red beet variety Ayumi 04. The study was conducted from March to June 2025 in Mojoroto Village, Pacet District, Mojokerto using a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with two treatment factors, namely planting distance and harvest age. The first factor is planting distance (30x30cm, 30x25cm, 30x20cm, 30x15cm) and the second factor is harvest age (50HST, 60HST, 70HST). The parameters observed include plant length, leaf area, fresh weight of tubers per plant, fresh weight of tubers per plot, tuber weight per hectare and leaf area index. The results showed that a 30x15cm planting distance with a harvest time of 70 days after planting resulted in the best results in terms of fresh tuber weight per plot (3.90 kg) and fresh tuber weight per hectare (27.06 tons/ha). The results of this study provide practical information that the combination of 30x15 planting distance and 70 HST harvest age is optimal for increasing land efficiency and red beet production yields. These findings suggest that appropriate planting distance and harvest time can increase the productivity and yield of red beetroot.
