Abstract
PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional RU IV Cilacap is located at Jalan M.T. Haryono No. 77, Lomanis Subdistrict, Cilacap Tengah District, Cilacap Regency, Central Java Province. It is a state-owned enterprise operating in the energy sector, encompassing oil, gas, and new and renewable energy, with a managed production capacity of 348 MBSD. PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional RU IV Cilacap processes crude oil sourced from both domestic and international suppliers to produce a range of petroleum products, including fuel oil (gasoline, naphtha, kerosene, aviation turbine fuel, automotive diesel oil, and low sulfur wax residue), liquefied gas products (LPG and propylene), base oils and their derivatives (base oil, minarex, asphalt, and slack wax), aromatic products (paraxylene, benzene, toluene, and heavy aromate), as well as liquid sulfur. The refinery complex consists of 11 operational areas, one of which is the Cilacap Blue Sky Project (Proyek Langit Biru Cilacap – PLBC). This project is a continuation of the development of the Residual Fluid Catalytic Cracker (RFCC) Cilacap, initiated at the end of 2015. The PLBC was implemented to increase the refinery’s capacity and meet the growing domestic energy demand. Through this project, the specification of gasoline was upgraded from RON 88 to RON 92, with a production capacity of 91,000 barrels per day, resulting in more environmentally friendly fuel products. One of the key units in the refinery is the Naphtha Hydrotreating Unit (NHT), which is designed to remove sulfur (S), nitrogen (N), mercury (Hg), and metal compounds, ensuring higher fuel quality and compliance with environmental standards.
