Abstract

The cement manufacturing process at PT. Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk.'s Tuban Plant was carried out using the dry method. In this case, the reaction of raw materials in the solid phase utilizes a heat source to react and form clinker. The cement manufacturing process generally consists of several stages: raw material preparation, initial grinding, firing, final grinding, and packaging. The mass balance calculations performed on the suspension pre-heater, rotary kiln, and cooler systems comply with the law of conservation of mass, where the input mass of the system equals the output mass of the system. Proof that the mass balance calculations for each system are balanced can be seen from the total input and output mass values ​​for each system. The mass balance values ​​for the suspension pre-heater are 770,334.47 kg and the output is 770,334.47 kg. The mass balance values ​​for the rotary kiln are 483,423.45 kg and the output is 483,423.45 kg. And the value on the cooler mass balance obtained input value of 1,148,780.81 kg and output with a value of 1,148,780.81 kg. This shows that there are no losses that occur during the mass balance calculation of the three systems, all incoming and outgoing components are recorded properly and clearly.
