Abstract
The design project focuses on a Guanidine Nitrate Plant that utilizes urea and ammonium nitrate as raw materials through a crystallization process with a production capacity of 70,000 tons per year. The plant is planned to be established in the Kujang Industrial Area, Cikampek, West Java, operating continuously for 330 days per year. Urea is supplied by PT Pupuk Kujang, while ammonium nitrate is obtained from PT Multi Nitrotama Kimia Indonesia. The process involves melting the raw materials, mixing them with a silica catalyst, and reacting them at 195°C under atmospheric pressure to produce guanidine nitrate. The product is then crystallized, separated, and dried to obtain high-purity guanidine nitrate (97–98%). The plant is designed as a limited liability company (PT) with 220 employees. Economic analysis shows a Fixed Capital Investment (FCI) of Rp 607.6 billion, a Return on Investment (ROI) of 32.15% after tax, an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 24.03%, a Payback Period (PBP) of 2 years and 9 months, and a Break-Even Point (BEP) of 30.61%. These results indicate that the guanidine nitrate plant is economically feasible to establish in Indonesia, supporting the reduction of import dependency and promoting domestic chemical industry development.
