Abstract

On January 7, 2013, PT Semen Gresik (Persero) Tbk officially announced its name change to PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. At present, the cement production capacity of the Tuban I plant in Indonesia is 3,560,000 tons/year, Tuban II 2,950,000 tons/year, Tuban III 3,000,000 tons/year, Tuban IV 3,000,000 tons/year, and Gresik 800,000 tons/year. The cement production process consists of several stages, including mining, crusher operations, raw material preparation and kiln operations (RKC), coal milling, finishing mill operations, and finally, packaging. The main raw materials used in cement production are limestone (CaCO₃), clay (Al₂O₃·2SiO₃·xH₂O), silica sand (SiO₂), and copper slag (Fe₂O). Additional raw materials include gypsum, dolomite, fly ash, and other supporting materials. PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk is equipped with several operational laboratories, including raw material laboratories, waste laboratories, coal laboratories, paper laboratories, as well as laboratories dedicated to supporting the quality assurance of cement products. Quality control and testing facilities include chemical analysis, X-ray fluorescence (XRF), and physical testing. To support its production process, PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk operates several facilities, such as a water treatment unit, IDO storage, energy and power supply units, and a plant air operation unit to meet air requirements during production. In addition, the company manages production wastewater through its wastewater treatment plant (WWTP/IPAL) to ensure proper environmental compliance.
