Abstract

Law enforcement by the Surabaya City Police against perpetrators of digital fraud aims to deter perpetrators from repeating their actions, thereby discouraging others from committing similar crimes. However, the reality on the ground shows that the number of digital fraud cases continues to increase, indicating that the crackdown on digital fraud perpetrators is still not optimal. The main obstacles in the law enforcement process lie in three aspects, namely the lack of valid digital evidence and limitations in processing existing evidence. Efforts made by the Surabaya City Police to overcome these obstacles include the use of digital forensics to search for electronic evidence, as well as developing human resources who are proficient in digital systems.
