Abstract
This study analyzes the influence of financial literacy and overconfidence on stock investment decisions, with risk perception as a mediating variable, among formal sector female workers in Surabaya. The background of this research is based on the fact that women’s participation as investors in the Indonesian capital market remains low, even though women’s financial literacy levels are higher than those of men. Using a quantitative approach and data from 100 respondents collected through questionnaires, the population in this study consists of all formal sector female workers in Surabaya who invest in stocks, the analysis was conducted with Partial Least Square (PLS). The results show that financial literacy positively affects investment decisions, while overconfidence does not have a significant effect. Risk perception mediates the relationship between financial literacy and investment decisions but does not mediate the effect of overconfidence. These findings highlight the importance of financial literacy and risk awareness in improving investment decision-making among women.
