Abstract
Snow peas (Pisum sativum L.) are a vegetable crop with high economic value with increasing demand, but their productivity is still low due to suboptimal cultivation techniques, especially in the aspect of fertilization. This study aims to determine the effect of the application time and dose of phosphorus (P) fertilizer on the growth and yield of the Taichung variety of snow peas. The study was conducted in Mojoroto Village, Pacet District, Mojokerto Regency, using a factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) with two factors: the time of fertilizer application (initial planting, 7 DAP, and 14 DAP) and the dose of phosphorus fertilizer (60, 80, 100, and 120 kg/ha). The results showed that the combination of 100 kg/ha of phosphorus fertilizer with an application time of 7 DAP gave the best results in the parameters of the number of pods, pod weight per plant, and pod weight per hectare. Application of phosphorus fertilizer at 7 DAP also increased the efficiency of nutrient absorption in the early vegetative phase, while the dose of 100 kg/ha significantly increased the growth and yield components. These findings indicate that appropriate dosage and timing of phosphorus fertilizer application can increase the productivity and quality of snow pea yields, and serve as the basis for technical recommendations for cultivation in the highlands.
