Abstract

The slow distribution and increasingly expensive prices of commercial fertilizers encourage farmers to seek alternative fertilizers to meet their plant nutrient needs. Organic materials from plant residues, animal waste, and leftover food can be used as solid organic fertilizers. The study was conducted with the aim of studying the nutrient content of various types of organic materials combined with types of inorganic fertilizers such as solid organic fertilizers with national agency standards. The study was designed using a completely randomized factorial design, with factor I being the type of organic material, namely leftover food (B1), chicken manure (B2), and compost (B3). Factor II is the type of inorganic fertilizer with a dose of 150 kg.ha-1, namely control (A0), Urea (A1), SP36 (A2), and KCl (A3). Each combination of treatments was repeated 3 times and incubated for 3 weeks. Observations were made once a week on the parameters of pH, C-Organic, N-Total, P-Total, K-Total, and C/N ratio to be compared with the standard requirements for solid organic fertilizer quality. After 3 weeks of incubation, it showed that there were significant differences in all parameters. The highest pH of organic matter in the B1A1 combination was 7.8 and the lowest in B1A0 = 5.9, an average of 6.8; the C-organic content in the largest treatment was in the B2A2 treatment = 22.62% and the lowest in B2A3 = 17.50% and an average = 19.90%; the highest N-total content in the combination of B2A2 = 6.22% and the lowest in B1A0 = 4.81% and an average = 5.43%; the highest P-total content in B1A2 = 4.38% the lowest in B3A0 = 3.78% and an average of 4.05%; the highest K-Total content in the combination of B1A3 = 7.67%, the lowest in B3A0 = 3.70% and an average = 5.29%; C/N ratio between 3. Up to .04. In general, all of these parameters meet the quality standards for solid organic fertilizers, but because the incubation process is not controlled by temperature, and humidity and some analysis methods are not in accordance with the provisions, the organic materials above cannot be used as solid organic fertilizers.
