Abstract

The problem of crystal guava production is the high attack of pests, one of which is fruit flies. This research was conducted in the red guava garden of Sidoarjo Regency and Simorejosari A IV/17 Street in the research period from July to August. The methods used in this study were survey method by setting attractant traps, and purposive sampling method for sampling infested fruits used for host rearing. It was found that the fruit fly species that attacked the red guava garden was Bactrocera dorsalis. Based on independent t-test analysis, the trapped fruit fly population and the host rearing fruit fly population had significant differences. The emergence rate of host reared fruit fly imago had a negative correlation with the trapped fruit fly population, with a regression equation Y= 359.282-7.2146X. Based on path analysis, Rainfall and humidity have a negative relationship to the trapped fruit fly population, while temperature has a positive relationship to the trapped fruit fly population.
