Abstract
This study aims to analyze the influence of the Open Unemployment Rate (TPT), Domestic Investment (PMDN), Inflation, and Economic Growth Rate on the Poverty Rate in North Sumatra Province. The method employed is multiple linear regression to identify the factors that significantly contribute to poverty in North Sumatra. The data used are secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) covering a 15-year period from 2009 to 2023. The analysis results indicate that Domestic Investment (PMDN) has a significant effect on the poverty rate, while the open unemployment rate, inflation, and economic growth rate do not exhibit significant impacts. These findings suggest that increasing domestic investment can contribute to poverty reduction. Meanwhile, the factors of open unemployment, inflation, and economic growth require more effective policy interventions to achieve optimal outcomes in reducing poverty.
